Michael Paul Geer was born on January 14, 1956, in Willmar, Minnesota the son of Paul and Helen (Korsmo) Geer. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church. He grew up in the New London area attending New London – Spicer High School, graduating in The Class of 1974. Following graduation Michael attended Lincoln Arc Welding School in Euclid, OH. He was employed by Lunda Construction Company, Paul’s Body Shop and later owned and operated Geer Frameworks.

Michael was known as a traditional bow hunter, which was his favorite challenge. He enjoyed the outdoors and making Pioneer Pot Roasts for family. As an avid hunter, he acquired many trophies over the years. He also enjoyed hunting coon, pheasant, and most recently coyote. He was an avid sports fan, especially football.

Many fond memories were made at Lake Florida, where he gave countless boat rides. He was a stickler for safety.

Michael had a love of 60’s and 70’s music, often testing your knowledge on the artist when you came into the room. He loved local history traveling central Minnesota to historical and scenic sites. He was also interested in researching religion and the theology behind it. He currently worshiped at Living Word Lutheran Church.

Michael was generous with his time; from restoring his great-great grandmother’s head stone to planting oak trees at Burbank Cemetery.

He is survived by his siblings: Lynn (and Richard) Pryor of Spring Branch, TX, Timothy Geer of New London, Mary (and Douglas) Pratt of Grove City, Lois Kester of Willmar, and Pamela Geer of Scottsdale, AZ; eleven nieces and nephews; eleven great nieces and nephews. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Helen Geer, niece Adara Geer and nephew Luke Geer.

The family would like to thank all of the medical community, staff at Bethesda Club Suites and Rice Hospice for their support and care over the past few months. Blessed be the memory of Michael Geer.

I remember when all the cousin's got together at Gramma Geer's house in Tempe. We had so much fun running around and eating her famous donuts. It was great seeing him at the Geer reunion. We sat at his table and my husband and I had such at good time laughing and reminiscing with him. Our hearts go out to his family during this difficult time. We know he is keeping great company in heaven.

It's hard to say goodbye, but Micheal was excited he was going to see Jesus. And that's where he is, no more pain. He was so strong, yet weak in body at the last. He put up a good fight, and had so many plans yet. He was wanting to go to Little Falls to see where his cousin moved to. He would stop in and visit. Was always fun to visit with . Rest In Peace Micheal, we love you and now God will take care of you. Love, aunt Marilyn

I am saddened to hear of the passing of Mike. Knowing that his battle is now over and the pain is gone helps.
Mike always brought a unique perspective to any conversation or event. He enjoyed keeping us on our toes.
You could hear in his voice and in the twinkle in his eyes how much he loved his family.
He will be missed
