Michael "Mick" Duermit passed away peacefully on September 11, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born to Carl Duermit and Margaret Sies on September 7, 1936 in Sharonville, Ohio.
A man of many loves, Mick cherished the simple pleasures of life, especially being outdoors and tending to his yard. Mick was someone who never met a stranger—his warmth and genuine curiosity about people endeared him to all he encountered. He was a storyteller at heart, always eager to share memories of his past.
Mick was a proud veteran who served in the United States Navy for four years, an experience that shaped his lifelong dedication to service. That dedication extended into his community, where he volunteered at Saint Francis and Keehner Park, giving his time and energy to causes close to his heart.
For 30 years, Mick and Betty owned and operated Town and Country Dry Cleaners, which became more than just a job; it was a place where they met lifelong friends and created lasting bonds with their community. The relationships they built during those years were as important to Mick as the business itself, further solidifying his reputation as someone who truly cared about others.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Betty, who was the center of his world. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering commitment. Mick is also survived by his daughter, Teri Larkin (Byron), his grandchildren, Tia, Sheri (Tip), Cole, Cami (Alex), and Niki (Alex), along with seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Mick leaves behind his dear sister, Peggy Amiot, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved daughters, Sue and Connie, whose memories he carried with him always.
A visitation to celebrate Mick’s life will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John’s Church, located at 9080 Cincinnati Dayton Road in West Chester Township. A Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m., where friends and family will come together to honor the incredible life Mick lived. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting Mick’s giving spirit.
Mick’s life was one of love, laughter, service, and stories well told. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and his legacy of kindness will continue to inspire generations to come.

My heart and prayers go out to Betty and the entire family. I always loved seeing Mick, as did everyone. Always smiling, joking around and so friendly to everyone. He adored those grandbabies! I'm grateful to have had the privilege of knowing such a beautiful soul. I'm sure he's got Jesus laughing and enjoying his loved ones there. Until we see him again, his memories will live on in everyone he knew. Thank you for your beautiful presence in our lives, we love you Mick.

Micky was my softball coach for many years, and I so loved playing for him! He taught me a lot about how to win and how to lose. He was always smiling and laughing and made sure we had fun. I will always have the fondest of memories of him and his coaching. He was an awesome person just to be around. You will be forever missed my friend. Prayers to the family for comfort and healing.

Mick was an amazing man. An amazing uncle. My favorite story of him, was when I was starting out playing baseball I got hit by a pitch in the face. The next year or so I was terrified to stay in the box and swing. One night he came to a game and watched and saw how horrible I was. The next 2 nights he came up to the house and pitched to me for hours. I figured he had done thrown his arm out as many pitches as he threw. He waited till I was hitting every pitch he threw with a thump. I made the all star team the next year and he came to the game and I don't know who was more excited him or me. That memory has never faded for me. It's one that he and I will always share. Your going to be missed.

We are so sorry that our beloved Mick has been taken to Heaven. God gained another Very Special Angel. We are extremely remorseful that we will be unable to attend due to being out of town for our 37th Anniversary; we aspire to reach your wonderful 65 year goal ;-) We loved him greatly and all of you are in our prayers and thoughts. Much love, Wayne & Donna
