Michael L. Reaves, 43, of Spotsylvania, VA passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at his residence. He is survived by his parents, Kevin and Jacquline Reaves. Mike was born on December 13, 1976 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Mike graduated from Spotsylvania High School in 1995. He held several jobs before joining Hercules Real Estate Services. Mike worked in the field of maintenance. This type of work was in Mike’s DNA because he had the mind-set that he could fix anything.
Mike loved fast cars, as long as they were Mustangs. His first car was a white Mustang that he brought with his own money. He turned down the family car which would have been free. Mike later brought a blue Mustang that he was building for the track.
Mike was also known as “Big Mike” or “Mike Nitrous Reaves”. Physically, Mike was a big, tall man with a kind and gentle soul. He enjoyed spending time with family, friends, traveling, cruising, helping those in need and going to the race track.
Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wilbert Reaves, Catherin Reaves and his uncle, Joseph Samuels.
Mike was loved by everyone who knew him and will be missed. In addition to his parents, Mike's memory will be carried on by his brothers André (Sarah) Reaves and Bryant Reaves; companion, Darci Dunavant; god mother, Diann Wright, god brother, Travis Manuel, step-daughter, Kayla Walker; ex-wife, Michelle Walker; grandmother, Leoma Stanford; aunts, Gloria Johnson, Deborah Reaves, Sheila (Joseph) Bergen, and Karen (Matt) Reaves; uncles, Delano (Sandy) Williams, Roger Williams, Rodney Catlett, Alan Reaves, and Jeffrey (Pat) Reaves; special friend, Chris McCall; one nephew, nieces, a host of family and friends.
A viewing will be held at A.L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home on Sunday, July 19, 2020 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 p.m.. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 20, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at the Apostolic Faith Temple Cemetery, Thornburg, VA.

We moved to Stafford, Virginia five years ago, to Park Ridge Townhomes. This is how we met our maintenance man, Mike. As time went on, our children began to call Mike "Mr Mike" or sometimes, more often, "Uncle Mike." He was amazing man, caring soul, loved his job, and everyone around him. We send our most deepest condolences to the Reaves family during this most difficult time. We will miss Mike, his jokes, and his laugh. Our prayers are with his family.
Love always,

Every morning I would see Mike on the corner of Parkridge making sure the elementary kids made it ok. He would give you a smile or a wave. He always was there making sure everyone was safe. He was a kind and giving person. We will meet again my friend.
God Bless You
