Michelle Cleaver Obituary
SPRINGFIELD – Michelle D. Cleaver, 61, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.
She was born December 5, 1964, to John and Jo Ann (Logsdon) Courtney. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jo Ann, in 2007. Michelle married Joseph Thomas Cleaver, Jr. on September 19, 1987, at Springfield Southern Baptist Church.
Michelle retired from Franklin Life/American General Life Insurance Company. She was a member of Eastview Baptist and Cherry Hill Churches. She loved to read and studied the bible daily. She enjoyed puzzles, collecting vinyl records and tracing her family ancestry.
Michelle is survived by her husband, Joseph; son, Joshua; father, John Courtney; brother, Nick Courtney; sister, Amanda Courtney-Kother; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of a Celebration of Life service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Eastview Baptist Church 2277 East Black Street, Springfield, IL.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

I will always remember my friend we used to eat lunch at Franklin Life at the lunch room or go outside to the park. I loved it when she posted on Facebook and I would comment. I will truly miss my friend but will see her again in heaven. She is our angel now watching over all of us
