Michelle Tsahai Dajani, 49 of Peachtree City, Georgia sadly passed away on April 13, 2023. Michelle was a beautiful and vibrant person who spread joy and happiness wherever she went.
Michelle was born on September 24, 1973, to parents Lynette Mann and Melford Ward in Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies. After Michelle graduated from St Hugh’s High School in 1991, she attended The Edna Manley College of Visual and Performing Arts. Michelle migrated to the United States of America in 1993. Shortly thereafter, she enlisted and proudly served 8 years with the United States Army as a Combat Medic followed by 2 years in the United States Army Reserve.
Michelle graduated from Florida International University in Miami, Florida with a double Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Geography with a concentration in Geographic Information Systems and International Relations with concentrations in International Terrorism and Drug Trafficking. She was pursuing her Master’s Degree in International Relations and Global Security from the American Public University in Charlestown, West Virginia.
Michelle began her career with U.S. Customs and Border Protection on October 29, 2007, as a CBP Officer assigned to Port Everglades (PEV) and Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida under the Miami Field Office. While stationed in Fort Lauderdale she was promoted to a First Line Supervisor on August 10, 2014. Michelle spent 11 years in Fort Lauderdale until October 28, 2018, when she was selected to serve as a First Line Supervisor for the International Field Office and was assigned to the Port of Montreal, Canada.
While stationed at the Port of Montreal, Michelle was an integral part of the Port’s operations. Michelle was fundamental in initiating lasting relationships with the local community. She was integral in the establishment of the Montreal Preclearance relationship with the Mohawk People of Kahnawake. This relationship extended to the Consulate General of Montreal and allowed State’s Montreal mission to establish ties with the Kahnawake that remain intact to this day. Michelle spent 4 years on her international assignment in Montreal, Canada until November 6, 2022, when she was selected and promoted to Second Line Supervisor (Chief CBPO) at the Port of Atlanta, in Atlanta, Georgia.
While stationed at the Port of Atlanta, Michelle was assigned to oversee operations in the Trade and Cargo environment. She began to immerse herself in the operations and enjoyed the challenge of working in a “new” environment.
Throughout her career, Michelle was full of positivity and a “Ray of Sunshine” in the lives of those she loved and worked with. She was passionate, energetic, and dedicated, and her enthusiasm was infectious.
Michelle was predeceased by her grandparents, Andral and Myrtle Mann. She is survived by her mother, Lynette Mann-McIntosh; stepfather, Barrington Johnson; father, Melford Ward and stepmother, Delores Ward; her daughter, Leah, and her partner, David Porter; brothers, Carl Dunbar and his wife, Nola, Bryan Ward and his wife, Theresa; and sister, Arlene Carty and her husband Davell. She also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and acquaintances to cherish her memory.
Michelle’s passions involved dancing- she was a dancer/ballerina who performed with Rowe Spence, The Company Dance Theatre and The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. She loved music, traveling and a quest for learning different culture and customs. Michelle taught us all some fundamental lessons during her short journey through life. Of which, the most memorable was to appreciate life, appreciate each other, quickly mend broken relationships and to live each day as if it was your very last. Her bright light and big heart left us too soon, but we will remember her warmth, love, and generosity.
Michelle was a devoted and wonderful mother to her daughter, Leah. We will miss our dear daughter, mother, sister, niece, cousin and friend, as will those she impacted throughout her life, from friends and family to the work she did throughout her career.
Until the end, Michelle was nothing if not joyful, hopeful and enthusiastic. We will all greatly miss her smile and adventuresome spirit. Michelle, we are better for knowing you, better for loving you, better for having met you. May you be as blessed in the next life, as we are in this one by knowing you.
To honor Michelle’s memory, we are holding a celebration of her life at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at The Faith Center. We invite anyone who knew her to attend and remember her wonderful life.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at Monarch Funeral Home and on Saturday, April 29, 2023 from 10-11AM at The Faith Center.
Michelle will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at South Florida National Cemetery in tribute to the veterans of the United States of America.
May the works I’ve done speak for me..
May the life that I live speak for me..
May the service that I give speak for me..
The work that I’ve done, it seems so small,
Sometimes, it seems like I’ve done nothing at all.
When I stand before my God,
I want to hear Him say well done.
May the works that I’ve done, speak for me.

To Aunt Lynette and Family my sincere condolences to you all. I can’t begin to put into words how saddened I am for you. Take comfort in knowing that you will see her again. Sending love and prayers your way ❤
Tsahai always light up the room with her infectious laughter, her smile and cheerful personality. She’s the person who no matter what was going on would make you feel happy. She exuded positivity and happiness every time she came around. She was everyone’s favorite cousin, friend, niece and confidant. We shared so many great memories and I will always remember them. She was my children’s Kai and Renae’s favorite big cousin. Tsahai would always hug and love on them , played games with them and made them feel the warmth of her love.
Though distance and time separated us, Tsahai always held a very special place in my heart. I can’t believe she’s gone. It feels unreal, it feels like a very bad dream that I can’t seem to awake from. It was an absolute pleasure to have had you here with us cousin. You made the world a better place. You are gone too soon. Love you always. Until we meet again on that beautiful shore. Take your rest as you have completed your race. Rest in peace Tsahai ❤

Tsahai (Tashi), I watched you as a little girl growing up into a gorgeous young woman. You were always the center of and apple of your mommy's eyes.
As everyone who knew you, we can all say, 'you were the life of the party'. I remembered you going to Performing Arts College where you did dancing. You were such a good dancer that one year during Jamaica Carnival, Byron Lee & the Dragonaires asked you to come on stage and perform.
Everyone who got to meet and know you, saw what a truly outstanding, smart, sophisticated and friendly person you really were. You have left an undeniable impression on each and everyone of us. Thank you for your remarkable service. You will always be in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. Rest in Peace my Sweetie.

I had the privilege of serving Michelle as her real estate broker when she was searching for a home during her stay here in Montreal. Little did I know at that time that our acquaintance would blossom into a cherished friendship. Through our friendship, I discovered Michelle's many outstanding qualities. She was an incredibly talented woman, and her passion for life was admirable. Above all, her generosity and kindness deeply touched my heart.
A few years ago, I was diagnosed with lung cancer, and Michelle became my cheerleader throughout my fight. She always thought of me and supported me through my challenges. From being a mere customer, Michelle transformed into a close friend, then a sister, and finally, my guardian angel. Although she has left this world, I am sure that God has bigger plans for her. I firmly believe that she will watch over all of us from above, especially her beloved daughter and mother whom she cared for deeply.

Heartfelt condolences to Leah and all of Michelle’s family. I met Michelle when she first came in to CBP in 2007. I recall I took her to go get her initial airport ID. As we walked over she asked me a million questions, picking my brain about work. We were friends ever since. Nothing but good memories of Michelle; joking at work, talking about everything and anything, the Halloween parties. I’ll miss you my friend. Rest in peace.

To say that Michelle was our friend is saying too little. She was a bright light in our lives and someone we loved and hold dear. Seeing on paper that we’ve only known her for five years seems so wrong because she is such a big part of our lives and has made such an impact on Chip and I. I valued her for her support of my husband every single day at work and also independently as the warm and loving friend she was to me. Lynette and Leah and David, we hold you close in our hearts and prayers while you navigate this tragedy. Michelle, you are in our hearts forever and we will try every day to live up to the legacy you left us in your friendship.

I called her Tash or Tashi. We met when Aunty Lynette and Uncle Barry moved into the Belgrade community circa 1990 we had been there all our lives but Tash fit right in with the neighbourhood crew, became a staple in my set of bredrins & sistrens outside the neighbourhood as well and she became foundation and stayed foundation. I moved to the USA to study in 1991 & Tash came shortly after. We were both living in the “dirty south” (no, not South Florida, like Arkansa and Alabama!) and we kept the link visiting each other a couple times I moved to South Florida in 1997 & we were able to link much more as she was there also by then and even when I went back home to Jamaica in 2001, I would visit regularly, as would she, and we would always see each other we last spoke January 2023 wishing each other a Happy New Year.
Tash embodied spirit. She loved life. She would always pull me close to talk, touch my arm/hand and share some tidbit with that sparkle in her eye, upcurl and smack of her lips and a chuckle taking every hard thing that life threw her away JUST LIKE DAT. I have many many memories but every single one of dem is filled with joy and energy Energy goddess.
I love you fully and wholly and I am glad you knew that always. Rest in your power.

Although we had not spoken in quite a while, Michelle reached out to me in Nov. 22. She saw I had a baby and wanted to congratulate me on the birth of my son. We had a wonderful conversation that day. Her kindness and attention to others was truly a special gift. I was so moved by her actions and words to me and for my family. Take heart and comfort in knowing that she will always be remembered for her kindness and the brightness she exuded with her beautiful smile. My condolences to the family and mostly to dear Leah. This still feels so surreal. We only met each other a few years ago, but i felt like we have been close all my life. You were a truly an amazing person. I hear your voice in my head all the time "hey, cous". You, Lyn Lyn and Lee Lee were my family here in Montreal, and you always made me feel welcome. I am truly honored to have met you and have you in my life. I still can't believe you are gone. To Lynette, I can't imagine the pain you are going through and to Leah I know the pain of losing a mother, but you should have had many more years before experiencing this. I know you never stop loving and missing your loved one , but you learn how to manage those feeling a little more each day (doesn't make it easier), but you learn. To Michelle, we have lost an amazing person here on earth, but heaven has gained an angel. I love you and miss you and you will forever be in my heart.

As a young Army Military Police Lieutenant in the First Cavalry Division I had the distinct pleasure and honor of serving as her Platoon Leader. My niece, daughter and friend. I am still trying to grasp the fact that I will no longer be able to see your beautiful smile, hear your calming voice and share your hospitable, charming and genuine personality. You are indelibly imprinted in my mind basking in the memories we shared; I will never forget you. Sleep on my baby girl tightly enfolded in the arms of the angels...sleep on in peace
