Milby Dow, Jr.

On November 12, 1932 God blessed the Union of Milby Dow Sr. and Harriet Lang Dow with a baby boy who they named Milby Dow Jr.

Milby was educated in the public schools of Houston Independent School District. He attended 23rd Avenue Elementary School, Harper Junior High School, and Booker T. Washington High School. It is at Harper that Milby met his lifetime love Johnnie Mae Ferguson. Milby would go on to a career in the security field until retirement.

Milby accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age at Greater Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of Reverend E.D. Carrington. He would later serve as an usher as a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church led by Reverend Kenneth K. Rose.

Milby married Johnnie Mae Ferguson and to this union two children were born: Clenard Dow Sr. and Milby Dow III.

On Wednesday April 18, 2018 our God requested that Milby come home. He was preceded in death by his parents Milby and Harriett Dow; his wife Johnnie Mae Dow, seven of his siblings; Erma Lee Pickett, Esther Mae Banks (Oscar), Adell Lenora Murphy (Earl), Justine Elizabeth Johnson, Ulysses Herman Dow (Ethel), Howard James Dow, and Charles Eugene Dow; and his third wife Fannie Beatrice Dow.

He leaves to cherish his memories, children Clenard Andre Dow Sr., Milby Dow III (Sharon), Lorena Dunn (Lee), and Regina Batiste (Chris); grandchildren: Clenard Andre Dow Jr. and Chimyra Elaine Dow (Micha); one sister Marjorie Lucille Johnson (Arthur), two great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews that knew and loved him.
