Mildred Cotton Obituary
Mildred Lois Cotton, 83, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 25, 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary Carr; her son, Ray Fodor; sister, Jackie Moorehead; and brother, Bill Carr. She is survived by her husband, Robert Cotton; children, Jerry McDonald and wife, Mary Kay, Shelia Stewart Painter, Chuck Fodor and wife, Betsy, and Denise Andrews and husband, Mike; step-children, Bret Cotton, Bart Cotton, Robert Cotton, Cheryl Jones, Cassandra Wheeler, Bonnie Lumpkin, and Gloria Burdett; grandchildren, Tina Kent, Joshua Stewart, Travis Fodor, Matthew Fodor, Jacob Fodor, Alex Fodor, and Amanda Fodor; 25 step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Zachary Kent and Carter Stewart; two sisters, Norene St.Clair and Loretta Stafford; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mildred was a retired supervisor from Maid Bess Corporation in Salem, VA. She was a beautiful lady inside and out. She loved her husband, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also loved roses, crossword puzzles, and dancing. She was a strong woman full of life and laughter, kindness, generosity, and love. She will be dearly missed. A period of visitation will be held on Friday, March 2, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home's chapel. Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Burial Park in Roanoke. Layman Jerry McDonald will officiate.
