West Springfield – Mildred L. (Angelides) DiStefano, 91 years old, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2021.  Midge was born December 20, 1929 in Bronx, New York, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Helen (Padgett) Angelides.  As a teenager her family relocated to Springfield, where she graduated from Springfield Technical High School, then moved to West Springfield.  Midge worked at Mass Mutual Insurance Company and later ran a small decorating business, which she loved.  Midge loved spending time with her family whether it be camping on the Connecticut Shore, traveling, or just time at home together.  Midge was a devoted wife and mother, predeceased by her husband Edmund J. DiStefano in 2016.  Midge is survived by two daughters, Sandra Nachbauer and her husband Albert of Pittsfield, Dianne Brown and her husband David of West Springfield, five grandchildren, Nicholas (Gina) Brown, Kayla Brown and fiancé Mike Thoma, Tamara (Paul) Collette, Sarah Nachbauer (Jon Eden), Matthew (Sarah) Nachbauer, five great grandchildren Payton and Addison Collette, Matthew J. and Charles Nachbauer and Beau Brown.  Midge’s family would like to thank the Staff at Armbrook Village of Westfield for the excellent care provided.  Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Thomas the Apostle Church on Friday, May 28th at 11:30am followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery.  The West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements.  Donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to the Covenant House to New York (Opening doors for NYC youth), 550 10th Ave. New York, NY, 10018 or to UNICO of West Springfield, P.O.
