Mildred Pittman Obituary
Mildred Hood Pittman, 97, of Wilmington, NC, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2018, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center, Wilmington.
She was born on October 17, 1920, daughter of the late Thaddeus W. Hood and Mary Naomi Hollemon Hood.
Mrs. Pittman was a long-time member and a past treasurer of Pine Valley Baptist Church, Wilmington, and was employed at the dental practice of Dr. Bernard Morgan for over thirty years. In her spare time she enjoyed playing cards and Scrabble.
Surviving are her son, Greg Pittman and wife, Karen of Wilmington; a grandson, Neil Gregory Pittman; a brother, Ray N. Hood; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Her husband, John William Pittman, a daughter, Rebecca H. Pittman, and a sister, Grace Carter, preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel, 4108 South College Road, Wilmington, with Rev. Melvin Hall officiating. Interment will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory to Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center, 1406 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC.

I had the pleasure of knowing this dear lady through her daughter, my friend Becky. We shared some good times and laughter and occasional Birthday cake with her over the years. Oh how Bec loved her Mama! And we all loved her too! Rest in Peace, Mama Mildred. To Greg, Karen and family, you are all in my thoughts and prayers for comfort and Peace in the days ahead. God Bless.
