Monica M. Plata

Monica M. Plata, 75, of Northampton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Alexandria Manor, Nazareth. Born January 25, 1950, in Cementon, she was a daughter of the late Michael Sr. and Anna (Biss) Plata. Monica worked as a medical assistant for Lehigh Valley Hospital for 17 years. She was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church.

Survivors: son, Edward M. Plata and wife, Bethann; granddaughter, Sarah Plata; sisters, Ruthann Grieshammer, Mary Helen Plata, and Annmarie Pavlinsky; sister-in-law, Virginia Plata; and good friends, Barbara and Richard Ebner, and Jean Keschl. She was predeceased by her brothers, Edward, Michael, Robert, and David, and sister, Virginia.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 23rd at 11:00 a.m. in Assumption BVM Church, 22nd St. and Washington Ave., Northampton. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Reichel Funeral Home, Northampton. Online condolences may be offered below.
