Mr. Masico Kontist Gordon, Sr. of 1420 Jones Lane, Americus, Georgia, died Monday, May 26, 2025, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of the Friendship Baptist Church in Americus, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Eastview Cemetery in Americus, Georgia.
Mr. Masico Kontist Gordon, Sr. was born on February 9, 1975, in Sumter County, Georgia, to Mr. Dennis Carter, Jr., and Ms. Joann Gordon.
From an early age, Masico demonstrated a remarkable talent and passion for barbering, beginning his craft at just 15 years old. He dedicated many years to perfecting his skills at First Impressions Barbershop and Salon.
Masico received his education from the public schools of Sumter County, graduating in 1994. In 2008, he joined Tyson Foods Inc., where he remained a committed employee until his passing. His dedication to his work was admired by colleagues and friends alike.
A devoted member of Mount Salem Baptist Church, Masico was known for his unwavering faith and commitment to his community. His involvement with the church continued until his health began to decline.
Masico married the love of his life, Lutrina, with whom he shared 17 years of marriage and a total of 28 years together. Their love story was marked by the blessings of two wonderful children. Lutrina was by his side through all life's challenges, demonstrating the strength and depth of their partnership.
Masico's life was a testament to love, dedication, and community. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched, both personally and professionally. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him, and his impact will be felt for generations to come.
Masico Kontist Gordon, Sr. passed away on May 26, 2025, at the Emory University Hospital, leaving cherished memories to his loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Lutrina Lawanda Gordon of Americus, Georgia; his caring children, Mr. Masico Gordon, Jr., Mr. Raheem Holmes, Mr. Ja'Kontist Gordon, and Mr. Hendrick Gordon; two grandchildren, Nana and Yonna; his loving mother, Ms. Joann Gordon of Americus, Georgia; his caring father, Mr. Dennis Carter, Jr. (Mae Boone) of Americus, Georgia; his sister, Shaiketta Washington of Americus, Georgia; his brothers, Mr. Dennis Carter, III (Terrance) and Mr. Terry Boone of Americus, Georgia, Mr. James Washington (Krystal) of Sandy Springs, Georgia, Mr. Willie Fred Washington, III and Mr. Terrance Washington both of Americus, Georgia and Mr. Carlos (Victoria) Washington of Marietta, Georgia; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Emma Cooke of Americus, Georgia; his sister-in-law, Mrs. Terrolynne Russell (Michael B.) of Union City, Georgia; his brother-in-law, Mr. Oscar Cooke, Jr. of Americus, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives, along with cherished friends, including Mr. Keith Smith, Mr. Rodney Hartage (cousin), and a devoted niece, Ms. Mercedes Russell.
