Mrs. Tamer Briggs Obituary
Please keep this family lifted in prayer as they celebrate the homegoing of their loved one Saturday, February 28, 2026, 1:00 p. m. at the First Baptist Church on Amulet Street where the Rev. Thomas Carter is Pastor. The casketed remains will lie in state at the church for public visitation from Noon until service time. There will be a wake at the First Baptist Church, 1116 Amulet Street, Natchitoches, LA 71457 on the preceding Friday evening, February 27, 2026 from 5:00 p. m. to 7:00 p. m. where a service of memory will unfold. Interment will follow the funeral on the next day in the Fern Park Cemetery on Texas Street.

Sister Briggs such a sweet lady I meet this beautiful lady in 1983 on Northwestern Campus. Just a few months ago I got a chance to see her in the bank still Sassy as ever whenever I seen her she would give me the warmest hug, To her Grown Kids your Mom was a Jewel in my eyesight I will never forget our time together.

I was honored in seeing this beautiful woman on Mother’s Day at the 1st Baptist Church on Amulet Street. I talked with her, and told her how much she has always been an inspiration to me. She smiled and said: “Well thank you darling”. I pray that her children, grands, great-grands, alone with all that genuinely loved her will be strengthen by the Lord, in time to come.

Mrs. Tamer Briggs was a very talented lady. I grew up down the street from her and the Briggs family. I can remember her teaching my mother (Lillie A. Gay) how to sew. Her crafting of clothes made one believe that the items came out of a retail store. To the family, I'm truly sad to here of her passing. God's compassionate understanding and ability to comfort one and all makes a difference in all of our lives. Continue to seek him with his infinite ability and wisdom, he will see you through.
