Greetings Dear Cousin Rene,
Please accept the very deepest sympathy and sincere condolences from your Cousins in the Claxton and Hagan, Georgia, area. Please know that our thoughts and prayers have been with you continually since learning of Ashawnte´s hospitalization.
Vivian, as well as Doris, kept us all abreast of your texts and calls, and Vivian would remind us to keep you, Ashawnte, her children, Velda, and Jerome lifted in prayer. Vivian would say that, "there is no distance in prayer".
Ashawnte was not only a second cousin to me, but she was also a Soror to me, as well as Cousin Doris,--in our beloved Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. I will never forget meeting Ashawnte for the first time, embracing and confirming a true family and Delta bond.
Rene, we love you so much, and we will continue to pray God´s strength, peace, and comfort upon all of us.
Blessings and Look Up,
Cousin Diane Welch Holland

I’ve known you since I was a little girl. You were my sister’s best friend, but to me, you were family. I believe we even used to call each other god sisters because our families, especially our mothers, shared such a close and loving bond.
Although our hearts are heavy and this loss is deeply painful, I thank God for the gift of knowing you and for the years of love, laughter, and connection we shared in our younger years. Your life made an impact, and your presence will never be forgotten. I pray that the Lord will comfort every broken heart, strengthen your loved ones, and cover your family with His perfect peace that surpasses all understanding.
Sleep in heavenly peace, beautiful soul. Rest safely in the arms of Jesus until that glorious day when we meet again. Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts. Forever loved, forever remembered.
