Myrline Tanner Obituary

Myrline Tanner, age 91. of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at 11:15 a.m. in St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, MO.


Myrline was born on June 16, 1928 in Old DuQuoin, IL, a daughter to Murell Ray and Mary Pauline (Flowers) Mifflin. On September 12, 1946 she married Thomas L. Tanner in Bluford, IL and he preceded her in death on August 12, 2005. Myrline was a homemaker and worked for Sparta Garment Factory. She was a member of Winkle Baptist Church, Coulterville, IL and enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading, baking and spending time with her family.


Survivors include one daughter, Linda (Donald) Greer of Swanwick, IL; one brother, Donald Mifflin of DuQuoin, IL; three grandchildren, Marcy Greer; Tracy (Craig) Rixmann; and Bradley Greer all of Swanwick, IL; three great-grandchildren, Dakota Greer, Aaron Rixmann, and Peyton Rixmann; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.


She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister-in-law, Betty Mifflin.


Funeral services will be held at Winkle Baptist Church, Coulterville, IL on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Jeff Downard officiating. Interment will be at Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.


Visitation will be held at Winkle Baptist Church, Coulterville, IL on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.


Memorial donation may be made to Winkle Baptist Church, Coulterville, IL.
