Nancy Crowe Funderburk, born in Boiling Springs, NC, on January 1, 1942, passed away on December 14, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Tom Franklin Funderburk, who preceded her in death on May 28, 2015.
Nancy attended nursing school after high school and worked for many years in healthcare as an emergency room receptionist and later as a hospital floor supervisor. She retired from Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia, North Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Faye Crowe and Nancy Vetra Green Crowe; her sister, Betty Crowe; and her brother, Gilbert Crowe.
She is survived by her sons, Harvey Cook, Jr. and his wife Bobbi Jo and James Garrett Cook; her grandchildren, Christine Cook and Grant Cook; and her great-grandchildren, Owen Lee and Adelaide Lee.
Known as a fiery redhead with a big heart, Nancy will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and love for her family. While at White Oak Manor, she was affectionately known as “Fancy Nancy.”
Services will be held privately by the family.

I worked with Nancy at Caromont Hospital. She was our clerical supervisor in Radiology Department. Nancy was a wonderful friend and our friendship continued after we left the hospital. I have missed her so much and have cherished memories of our friendship. She and Her husband, Tom, were wonderful Christian friends. I am thankful for the years that I knew them. My condolences to the family.

Nancy was a part of our family here at White Oak & I already miss that beautiful smile, her cute little wave, & hearing " I love you." Its just not the same without "the fanciest Nancy of all." Thanks so much to the family for sharing this beautiful lady with us. And condolences for your loss.
