Nancy Rose Thomas Goins Crockett age 87 of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday, March 22, 2026 at her home.

Mrs. Crockett was born in Galax, Virginia on December 1, 1938 to Thomas and Frances Early Goins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Willis Layton Crockett, Sr.; and siblings Billy Goins and Jackie Goins.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Jacqueline Marie and Allen C. Gee III  of Denver, North Carolina; Teresa Crockett and Steven LeGay of Rocky Mount, North Carolina; son and daughter-in-law Willis Layton Crockett, Jr. and Rebecca  of Galax, Virginia; sister and brother-in-law Betty and Raymond Newman of Upper Marlboro, Maryland;  brothers and sisters-in-law Bobby and Mary Kinzer of Texas; Lloyd and Kara Hale of Galax, Virginia; eight grandchildren Tito Crockett (Sarah); Heather Gee; Erica Moses (Charles );  Joshilyn Darby (Franklin); Holden Thomas Crockett (Kara); Joshua Blair (Morgan Davis); Josh Johnson (Emily) and Andy Johnson;  God-Daughter Shalaya Foxx; eight great-grandchildren Kendall Levi; Miyanah Redding; Mahkai Redding; Jeremiah Allen Darby;  D’shawn Layton Crockett; Silas Langston Crockett; Braylen Reese Tucker and; Avery Crockett; several nieces and nephews; special friend Sue Robinson;  caregivers Bill and Rosemary Cox; Gloria Brown and Sylvia Richardson.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 4th at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel. Burial will follow in the Oldtown Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
