Nathan Nolen, Sr., age 76, of Malvern, Arkansas, was born on July 27, 1949, to the union of Nathaniel and Dorothy Jefferson Nolen. He departed this life on Friday, November 7, 2025.
Nathan attended A.A. Wilson High School and furthered his education at Quapaw Vocational Technical School, where he completed a certificate in Electronics in Biomedical Technology. His professional journey began at Featherlite Manufacturing and continued at Reynolds Metal Company where he worked for over a decade. A natural born leader, Nathan became a manager at Precision Industries, before he retired.
He was united in marriage to the late Alice Faye Matthews. To this union, one son, Nathan “Champ” Nolen, Jr., was born. Nathan Sr. was also the proud father of Reginald Nolen and Ryan Smith.
Throughout his life, Nathan was known for his strong work ethic and leadership abilities. He was also known for his ability to find pleasure in the simple things in life. Nathan enjoyed landscaping his yard and capturing moments through photography. His most notable trait was his sense of humor; he will be remembered for his quick wit and his ability to make everyone around him laugh. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and dedication to family and friends.
Nathan was preceded in death by his parents, Nathaniel and Dorothy Nolen; his stepfather, John Bazziel; his sister, Mary Frances “Butch” Clegg; and brothers, Dewayne Nolen, Jessie “Bubba” Hall, and Joe Henry Nolen.
Cherishing his memory and continuing his legacy are his sons: Reginald Nolen, Nathan Nolen, Jr. (Misty), and Ryan Smith (Aaliyah); grandchildren: Rhondon Nolen, Jordan Xavier Smith, and Noah Nolen; great-grandson, Carter Nolen; his dear friend, Joanne Harris; brother-in-law, Leonard Clegg; sisters-in-law: Sheila Nolen, Margaret “Marge” (Ralph) Lewis, Esther “Rene” (Leon) Richardson, and Sandra “San” Matthews; along with a host of loving cousins, nieces and nephews, family members, and friends.
