NEIL A. GROENING died peacefully in his home on October 15, 2024 in Cleveland Ohio at the age of 65.
Neil is survived by his mother, Katie Groening; wife, Christine Groening (nee Pawlowski); children, Patricia McLaughlin (Dale), Danielle Groening (Christopher), Neil Groening (Jessica); siblings, Pete, Bunty, and Glen. He is preceded in death by His Father Edward Groening.
Neil was a dear uncle, great uncle, nephew, cousin, godfather, neighbor, and friend to many, but his greatest achievement in his life was being a Papa to 8 wonderful grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Mason, Otto, Miley, Troy, William, and Logan. Neil would do anything for his grandchildren. He loved to attend their sporting events, concerts, and birthday parties. He would draw, play games, and chase them around anywhere they went.
Neil was a skilled carpenter and handy man. He could fix anything and would often drop whatever he was doing to help anyone in need. He volunteered his time to mentor and coach his children’s sports teams and numerous activities. Neil’s protective instincts did not stop at his children but spread through his community. He loved to be at his camper drinking his coffee or rum buckets and eating his pretzel rods around the fire while listening to good music.
Neil will be sorely missed by everyone and be remembered for his excess use of the F word and willingness to do anything for anyone.
Memorial Service Saturday, October 19, at 11:00 AM. in the CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of NORTH OLMSTED, 29150 LORAIN RD. AT STEARNS where friends may call FRIDAY 4-7 PM. Inurnment Sunset Memorial Park.

Our family hurts for the entire Groening family and anyone who loved Neil. My fondest memories are of him always having a baby/kid in his arms and never minding to play with the kids. He was always so attentive to them, and it was heartwarming to watch. So much love to Uncle Neil, Aunt Jess and the boys, Danielle, Patty and their families, and of course Chris. BIG hugs to you all. Sending so much love.
