Nellie Sue Weaver

1940 - 2026

Nellie Sue Norman Weaver, age 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at Atrium Health Cleveland. She was born in Cleveland County on May 17, 1940, to the late Roy Ladd Norman and Mary Lucille Wallace Norman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lawerence “LB” Weaver, sister, Lorene Norman Walker; her half-brother, Harold Norman; and her beloved granddaughter, Alisha Webb Bernat.

Nellie Sue was a faithful member of Eastside Baptist Church, where she especially enjoyed the senior trips. She also found great joy in spending time at the senior center, where she loved playing Rook and visiting with friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Debbie Webb (Brian), Larry Weaver, Terra Weaver Newsom, and McKayla Eaker. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Shannon Webb, Lauren Eaker, Paige Eaker, Lane Newsom, and a very special great granddaughter, Maylee Eaker, along with many loving great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her sister, Mary Norman Love (Olin), and a dear and special friend, Hilda Hylemon.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM in the chapel of Cecil M Burton Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Mountain Rest Cemetery in Kings Mountain.
