Not sure what to say?

Matt and Nick,
We are sorry for the loss of your Dad. He will be missed.
Your Dad and I grew up as kids. Your grandparents were my god parents. I was fortunate to reconnect with him and we had many memories to chat about.
He was a good person and great friend.
May he rest in peace.

John and Rosemarie Esposito

I have great memories of your father when we were young at our family get togethers, surrounded by food and love. Your dad was always fun to be around, caring and a hard worker. I know he’s making beautiful music in heaven. Love Al and Audrey Fritz

Dear Matt&Nicholas I have great memories of your father and our family get togethers when we were young surrounded by food and love. He was always fun to be around, caring and a hard worker. I hope he is making music in heaven.❤

Dear Nicholas, Matthew, and family
We are very sad to hear of your Dad’s passing. We have known Nick for over 11 years through mutual friends in Shelton. We always enjoyed spending time with him during our friend gatherings. More recently I (Réal) would have breakfast with your Dad at our local dinner. Recently a couple of Sundays ago, your Dad and I went to a Corvette show in Guilford. He truly loved his Corvette and was able to educate me on all the different models we saw at the...

Nick, I am struggling to find the right words to express how missed you will be. You were such a joy to be around and speak to. I loved hearing about your life, the silly things that made us both laugh and all the conversations about Italian food. You were someone I genuinely enjoyed seeing and talking to, regardless of what it was about. I thoroughly enjoyed our weekly chats and deep conversations about anything and everything that life was throwing at you that week. Your smile was...

Nick, I am grateful that I knew you. Thank you for the life lessons you provided. Thank you for fathering my nephews, Nicholas and Matthew. They are a source of many happy memories and love in my life. May your spirit be at peace.

We extend our deepest sympathies at this time and thank you for entrusting us with the care of your loved one.

Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Nicholas's Obituary

Nicholas C. DeLuise, 68, of Shelton, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at his home on August 11, 2025.

Born on February 15, 1957, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Nick was the son of the late Alphonse DeLuise and Rose (Terranova) DeLuise. He is survived by his two beloved sons: Nicholas A. DeLuise and his wife, Alexandra, along with their children Christopher, Lillian, and James; and Matthew D. Kochanski and his husband, Paul, with their daughter Katrina. He is also survived by his brother, Anthony M. DeLuise.

Nick was retired from the printing industry. Outside of work, his true passion was music. A talented drummer and vocalist, he performed with his band, Out of the Barn, whose members became a second family to him and made a lasting impact on his life

Nick was equally at home behind the wheel of his cherished Corvette or on the open road with his motorcycle. While he loved both, his true happiness was found with his grandchildren whom he loves dearly. His love for his family and friends will be remembered by all who knew him.

Family and friends are invited to the Brooklawn Funeral Home, 511 Brook St. Rocky Hill, on Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 12-2p.m. Burial will be held privately.

The family would like to thank the staff and doctors at Hartford Healthcare Cancer institute for their care and compassion over the last few years.
