Orla Glen New, 86, of Berry, KY, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016 at the Hospice of the Bluegrass Care Center at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY. Born on June 9, 1930, he was the oldest son of Frank and Mary Elizabeth Barnes New. On September 2, 1967, he married Carolyn Boone New, and she survives his passing. Orla earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Georgetown College, and spent his career as a personnel manager with the IRS and later retired as an inspector with the ATF treasury Dept. He was a US Air force veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Cynthiana Elks Lodge #438, and The Williamstown American Legion Post #137. Orla had many hobbies, his favorite being drinking coffee and eating. He also loved his cars, growing flowers, and spending time on the old family farm, where he would ride his UTV along the creek and enjoy the peace.
In addition to his wife Carolyn, he is survived by his nephew Mike(Sherry) Boone, his dog Goldie, and many friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at Woodhead Funeral Home in Berry with Bro. Barry Robinson officiating. Visitation time will precede the service from 11-1, and include an Elks Lodge service. Military Honors will be presented by the Hardin-Browning Post #109.
