Patricia "Pat" Phillips Obituary
Mrs. Patricia “Pat” Ruth Phillips age 79 of Thomason Rd. Young Harris passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 4, 2026 in the Chatuge Regional Nursing Home following an extended illness. Mrs. Phillips was born on September 1, 1946 in Murphy, NC., the daughter of the late Burline Thomason and the late Elsie Wright Thomason. Pat was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her life evolved around her family which she loved dearly. She was always there to lend a helping hand to those in need. She was preceded in death by the loved of her life, Hal Joseph Phillips in 2013, her parents and also a brother, Lane Thomason. Mrs. Phillips was a member of Gum Log Baptist Church.
Surviving Mrs. Phillips are one son and daughter in law, Mark and Tammy Phillips of Hiawassee, a daughter by choice, Celia Barnard of CA., two sisters in law, Hilda Thomason of Hiawassee, Charlotte Murphy of Blairsville, two grandchildren, Matthew and Bridget Phillips of Hiawassee, Michael and Whitley Phillips of Hiawassee, four great grandchildren, Gracelynn, D.J., Claire and Bo, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 7, 2026 at 3:00 pm at the Mountain View Chapel with Rev. Mark Shook and Rev. Bryan Souther officiating. Special music will be presented by Lilly Martin and the Old Time Way. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Matthew Phillips, Michael Phillips, Ronnie Stroud, Russell Hedden, Jackie Barnes and Matthew Gibson. Interment will follow in the Old Brasstown Baptist Church Cemetery where she rest with beloved husband, Hal. Flowers are accepted or if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to help defray expenses in Mrs. Phillips memory. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1-3:00 pm.

Momma you are so loved and will truly be missed. Thank you for taking me under your wing and for loving me as your own for 20 years.
