Van Hoy
Hamptonville- Mrs. Patsy Ruth King Van Hoy, 84, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2017. She was born February 24, 1933 in Yadkin county to the late Miles Wheeler King and Dyette Riley King. Patsy graduated from West Yadkin High School, and moved shortly thereafter to Wilmington, Delaware where she and her husband owned and operated a General Insurance Agency for over 35 years. Upon her retirement, she returned to Hamptonville, NC and enjoyed collecting antiques, working in her flower garden, and baking cakes. She was a faithful member of Mountain View Baptist Church, and served as a caretaker with the Walker Class, of which she greatly loved. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John H. Van Hoy, Jr.; sisters, Evaline Moody and Mary Lou Williams; and a brother, Jimmy C. King. Surviving is her son, Johnny Van Hoy; brother, Leo (Katie) King, Archie (Phyllis) King, Allen (Shirley) King, Jack (Frances) King, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Mountain View Baptist Church in Hamptonville, NC. Her funeral service will follow the visitation on Sunday in the Church with Rev. Tim Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to either the SECU Hospice Care Center of Yadkin, 243 West Lee Ave., Yadkinville, NC 27055 or to Mountain View Baptist Church, 1232 Mtn.
