Paul Grater Obituary
Paul M. Grater, 92, of Red Hill, PA, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025, at his residence.
He was the beloved husband of the late Grace Y. Grater who passed away on September 14, 2021. They were married for 63 years before her passing.
Born in Skippack, PA, he was a son of the late Edward Grater and Sally (Meyers) Grater. Paul was one of 13 children and is the last one to pass on.
After graduation, Paul enrolled in the Army. He then became self-employed as a farmer.
He was a lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ridge Valley along with his late wife. He was involved with the Guernsey Association, the Farm Bureau Extension Board, the PFA and the Montgomery County Farmers Association.
Paul is survived by his son Doug Grater of Evansburg, PA. He is also survived by his grandchildren: John Paul and Dianna Grace (Nick) Shupinski.
Along with his wife Grace, he is predeceased by his brothers: Earl, Edward, Fred, John, Elmer, George, and Stanley. He is also predeceased by his sisters: Mamie, Lizzie, Susan, Mabel and Sara, as well as his daughter-in-law Jeanne Grater.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 11:00 AM in St. John’s Lutheran Church, 910 Allentown Rd., Ridge Valley, PA 18960. Family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 prior to the service. Interment will be immediately following the service at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.

We will miss Paul and his service to Montgomery Co Farm Bureau (Montgomery Co Farmers Association). Paul last served as a Montgomery Co delegate at the State Conference - November 2024 in Hershey, PA. Enjoy these wonderful memories we have!

Just a sympathy note on the passing of "uncle" Paul. He was my mom's (Betty Grater/Keyser/Clouser/Smith) uncle and I remember going to the Grater family Reunions in the late 60s and early 70s at the cemetery where my Great Grandfather, Edward, and my Grandfather Edward are buried. Seemed like Paul was always the one who would hit the softball into the forest and we younger kids were expected to go find it. I also remember the kitchen facility in the auxilliary building on the premises. Seems like that's where all the cooking was done. This remains one of my fondest memories. I didn't see Paul and Grace, or even Doug, very often after I left home in 1973, but whenever I had the chance to go visit them on the family farm I would, along with my wife, Janet, and kids. He will be missed.

I am going to miss Paul so much. He has always been a great uncle to me, but most of all a good friend! I will miss our long talks on the phone about the Eagles. I want you to know my thoughts and prayers are with you!
