Peggy Miller Obituary

Peggy J. Miller, age 69 of Wakarusa, IN, passed early Wednesday morning, December 31, 2025 at her home with her daughter by her side. She was born on March 15, 1956 in Elkhart, IN to Ronald and Miriam “Ann” (Verhey) Truex. Peggy was a lifetime resident of the Wakarusa area and was a 1974 NorthWood High School graduate. On September 6, 1980, Peggy married Rolland “Bud” Miller in Goshen. He preceded her in death on February 20, 2016. Peggy had worked as the head of publication at Holiday Rambler in Wakarusa for 25 years before working in parts and service at Newmar in Nappanee for 7 years. She then retired from Travel Star Products in Goshen, where she got to work alongside her brother and nephews. Peggy was a proud supporter of Special Olympics in Elkhart County. She had served as treasurer and on the board of directors. She helped with fundraising for many years and was instrumental to Elkhart County being one of the best funded counties in the state for Special Olympics. Peggy was an avid fan of NorthWood Athletics and could be found cheering the Panthers on during the fall, winter, and spring sports seasons. Above all else, Peggy loved her family. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (CJ) Cunningham of Wakarusa; son, Chad Miller of Wakarusa; granddaughters, Claire and Nora Cunningham; parents, Ronald and Ann Truex of Nappanee; sister, Diane (Max) Bickel of Nappanee; brother, Terry (Dianne) Truex of Syracuse; and sister-in-law, Ronda (Keith) Klotz of Nappanee. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband Bud. Visitation will be held from 11 am – 3 pm on Monday, January 5, 2025 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. A funeral service will begin at 3 pm Monday and a private family graveside service will follow at Union Center Cemetery, Nappanee. Memorial contributions in Peggy’s name can be given to the Elkhart County Special Olympics.

I worked with Peggy at Travel Star Products and from the first day I started to the time Peggy retired and beyond she was always so kind to me. Truly one of the nicest and sweetest person I have ever met or been around. Peggy also made the best scotcharoos, I think she knew I loved them. I’m very grateful that I was able to see her at this last golf outing and as always she was smiling. I will truly miss her but I know she’s in a much better place. Peggy will be in my heart forever. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.

To Peg’s family,
That is a beautiful picture of her! We were friends in high school and I saw her often out and about and at the NW games. I remember her as kind and quick to laugh. I’m sorry for your loss!!!
