Philip Andrew Jerina, of Wadsworth IL, passed away on September 30, 2023, at the age of 36.
Philip was born in Waukegan IL and attended Lake Shore Catholic Academy and Lake Forest High School. He played guitar, wrote music, and could fix anything with his own two hands. His musical talent and culinary gifts were blessings to everyone around him. Mostly, he will be remembered as having a huge heart, deeply sensitive, and for being a caring friend and family member who was willing to help anyone without question.
Philip will be lovingly remembered by his parents Matt and Kim; his sister, Kambra (Jerina) French and her husband Patrick French; his brother, Matthew Jerina, Jr. and his wife Sabrina Jerina; his nieces and nephews, Gabrielle Cappelle, Eleanor Cappelle, John Paul Jerina, Sofia Jerina, and Peter Jerina; as well as his grandfather, Darrell Hudson. In addition, memories of Philip will be held close to the hearts of the countless number of friends that he made during his life; friends that were a second family to him and brought him so much joy.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Fred Jerina, Frances Jerina, and Leona Hudson.
Visitation for Philip will be from 4 pm to 8 pm on Friday, October 6 at Gurnee Salata Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Ave, Gurnee, IL 60031.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Philip at 10:30 am on Saturday, October 7 at St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church, 40000 US-45, Old Mill Creek, IL 60046. Prior to Mass, there will be an hour of visitation beginning at 9:30 am. Interment follows at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville IL.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. Phil was close with my two children and their sons (Lauren & Orion and David & Zion). I’m so grateful to have spent time with Phil recently when visiting. He was a good man and I and so many others will miss him.
