Phillip "Nate" Nederveld Obituary

Phillip Nederveld “Nate”, age 72, of Hudsonville, joined his parents in heaven on Thursday, January 19, 2023.

Nate served our country with courage and honor in Vietnam for two years. After his service to our country, he continued to serve humanity and drove Semi-Trucks for ALTL. He delivered many of the essentials we often take for granted for over 4 decades. His happiness was the uninterrupted moments when his grandson Noah shared the freedom of the open road with him. But everyone knew his greatest joy was the time he spent with the love of his life, Mina. Cruises and Cancun were the memories he carried everyday. NASCAR held a special significance for the lovebirds. The bright shining light that came from him in the presence of family will live with us forever.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 23 years, Mina Nederveld. His cherished siblings; Mary and Mike Elenbaas, Merle Nederveld. His beloved children; Dale Nederveld, Kellie and David Hosteter, Charitie and Dipesh Banker, Crystal Balulis, Nicole and Thomas Krussel. Beloved grandchildren; Jake, AJ, Savannah, Kaitlyn, Christ, Brendon, Noah, Seth, Jaxson, Olivia, Cody, Elaina, Savannah, Abilynn, Elijah, Mason. Beloved great-grandchildren, Natalie and Emmett.

Funeral services for Nate will be held on Thursday, January 26, at 1:00 P.M. at VanderLaan Funeral Home. Internment Zutphen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at VanderLaan Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 25, from 5 to 8 P.M.

Phil was a great loyal friend. While my time at ALTL we started a softball team, I was the coach & Phil let me know right away he was our 1st. Baseman, how did he tell me ? Without words, he stood on 1st base first practice. Thank God for us he was a great 1st. Baseman. You will be missed. Your friend Kim Merwin.

Dear Mina, My prayers are with you at this time. It is very hard losing a husband.
Gord has been gone just over 3 months and I know it's a tough road. Your family and friends will help you get through this. May God give you peace and comfort.

The only way to express sadness I feel today is to express through words .Memories that Phil brought to our lives with donuts talks on Friday with his words of wisdom for all to listen. 50 years I have known him through working together in the sod fields to becoming one of our early drivers and for the next 40 plus years working along side of him at ALTL. Goodbye to a friend, a companion, an opinion that was listened to for his vast knowledge from his career, Phil your at the last rest stop of life no more deadlines, no more traffic just highways lined with love for you welcoming you home. Your home now to some love ones that have passed from us and care deeply for you...say hello.
