Phyllis Mizzell Obituary
Monroe - Mrs. Phyllis Kay Baucom Mizzell, 83, passed away Friday, December 5, 2025, at the Hospice House in Monroe. Born September 14, 1942, in Union County, she was a daughter of the late Johnson Baucom and Maxine Gordon Baucom. She was also preceded in death by siblings, Betty Moss, Beverly Knight, Tommy Baucom and a son-in-law, Terry Meadows.
Phyllis was a beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She loved days spent at the lake, fishing, camping and crocheting for her family and friends.
Funeral services will be private.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 65 years, Larry; daughter, Teresa Mizzell Meadows; son, Derrick Mizzell (Monica); grandchildren, Michael Whipple (April), Amanda Whipple and Ashley Pruett (Hunter); great grandchild, Austin James Whipple; and a brother, Jimmy Baucom.
Morgan & Son Funeral Home is serving the Mizzell family.

I’ll always remember the crocheted blankets all over her house and eating meatballs with gravy and rice. That was dad’s favorite that she made.
