Ralph Bushnell Obituary

Funeral services for Ralph H. Bushnell, 62, of Dry Creek, LA, will be held on Friday, September 7, 2012, 2:00 PM at Grace Church , DeRidder, LA, with Rev. George Lee Glass and Rev. Dalton Isbell officiating. Burial will follow in Dry Creek Cemetery, Dry Creek, LA, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder.

Visitation will begin on Thursday, September 6, 2012, at 2 PM until 9 PM, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home, DeRidder, LA, and Friday, September 7, 2012, from 9 AM until 11 AM at the funeral home, and from 12 PM until time of the service at Grace Church.

Mr. Bushnell was born on July 13, 1950, to Lloyd Joseph and Thelma Myers Bushnell in Lake Charles, LA, and lived most of his life in Dry Creek, LA. He was a construction maintenance supervisor and worked at various plants in the Lake Charles and DeRidder area. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving in Viet Nam. He attended Grace Church in DeRidder. Ralph passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at his residence.

Survivors include wife of 40 years Iris "Odie" Bushnell; two sons, Brett Bushnell and wife Daphne and T-Cot Bushnell and wife Alesia, both of Dry Creek; one brother, Larry Bushnell of Dry Creek; and one sister, Betty Guillory of Monroe, LA; four grandchildren, Kouri Shaver and husband Thomas, Zac Bushnell, Jordan Bushnell and Colby Bushnell; one great granddaughter, Elizabeth Shaver.

It is always saddening when you hear the passing of a good friend and co-worker, we worked together at oxy and ppg and I remember the fishing trip to caney near his sisters place. It was an honor to have known him and to haved served our country, he will be missed. Thoughts and prayers to the family.

To the Bushnell Family, I worked with Ralph for a couple of years at the Oxy Chem plant in Sulphur. He was a very kind person and always smiling. He will be truly missed by all. I am so sorry for you and your family. My prayers are with you and your family.
