Randall "Randy"'s Obituary

Mr. Randall Joseph “Randy” Elliott, Sr., 69, widower of Frances Harrelson Elliott, and of the Cedar Creek Community of Horry County, passed away peacefully with his family by his side after an extended illness at his residence on the morning of Monday, May 16, 2022.

Randy a loving husband, caring father and grandfather, and all-around good soul, was born on December 12, 1952, in Marion County, South Carolina, a son to Clotile Elliott Thompson and the late Carl Benjamin Elliott. Randy wore a lot of hats over the years, he was a Master Certified Mechanic, he had been an EMT for the Mt. Olive Fire and Rescue, a firefighter for the Fair Bluff Fire Dept., an Auto Mechanics Instructor at the Horry County, ATA School, he was musician who enjoyed playing music, a novice angler who would go fishing in a second, and was a professional comedian on the weekend, and one way or another Randy was going to get the laughs out of you. Next to his love for his family and friends was his love for the Lord and his church. Randy was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving Randy are his mother, Clotile Elliott Thompson of Nichols; his children: Dwayne Carlton Elliott and his wife, Heather of Nichols, and Christy Caroline Elliott of Nichols; his grandchildren, Caroline Grace Elliott and Benjamin Grier Elliott; his sister, Karen Hayes and her husband, Ronnie of Nichols; and his special fur baby, Anna Belle.

Randy was predeceased by his wife, France Harrelson Elliott, and a son, Randall Joseph Elliott, Jr.

Visitation will be held at Cox-Collins Funeral Home on Wednesday evening, May 18 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.

A funeral service for Randy will be held Thursday, May 19 at Cedar Creek Baptist Church in Nichols at 3:00 P.M., with the Reverends Dale Willoughby, Maxie Hardee, and Marcus Fowler officiating. Mr. Elliott will be laid to rest in Elliott Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Cedar Creek Baptist Church, 9375 Black Creek Rd., Nichols, SC 29581. Cox-Collins Funeral Home is assisting the family at this time, and a guest book is available on our website for those wishing to leave a kind word for the family.
