Raymond C. (Raymo) Marzani, 58, of Clarks Summit, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025, at Allied Services Hospice Center, surrounded by love and the warmth of his devoted wife, Monica Shander Marzani, whom he married 29 years ago atop the Empire State Building in New York City.
Born in Scranton to the late Ray Marzani and June Keesler Marzani, Ray spent his formative years creating cherished memories at Lake Winola, which he fondly visited during his year of recovery from brain surgery. A graduate of Tunkhannock Area and Abington Heights Schools, Ray joined the family business, Keystone Upholstering Co. in Scranton, where he worked alongside his father, brother, and nephew. Known as a skilled craftsman, Ray took immense pride in his work, earning a reputation within the family for solving the toughest problems, often summed up in the mantra, “where there’s a Ray, there’s a way.”
Ray was blessed with a home he loved and was surrounded by wonderful neighbors.
Ray was also a lifelong fitness buff who spent many hours at Brown’s Gym, where he enjoyed working out and sharing good times with dear friends Jim and Janel Brown. He found true happiness in his work corner at the shop, where he enjoyed crafting and collaborating with family. However, his second favorite pastime was tinkering in his garage, where he loved buying, building, and restoring stereo amplifiers, car stereos, and speakers. His love of the outdoors also shone through during weekend hikes with his wife and beloved husky, Sochi, along the local trails.
Ray’s sense of humor was legendary. His subtle wit could transform even the most stressful situations, and he had an incredible knack for rescuing awkward silences with just the right words, delivered at precisely the right moment.
He is survived by his loving wife, Monica; his brother Daniel Marzani and wife Debra of South Carolina; sister Laurie Youshock and husband Joe of Madison Township; brother Matt Marzani and wife Rose of Scranton; and sisters Valerie Cameron and husband Bill of Archbald, Andrea Marzani of Peckville, and Nadine Burns of Mayfield. As the cherished baby brother, he will be forever remembered by his family.
Ray was adored as the best uncle to his nieces and nephews: Cody Youshock, Jolie Youshock, Adam Simon, Erica Babbit, Dana Simon, Matthew and Nathan Marzani, Gregory and Alex Cameron, Tyler Burns, Shawna Getz Murphy, and Travis Getz. He made sure their cars always had state-of-the-art stereo systems, an act that illustrated his love for music and family.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff at Allied Services Hospice for their unwavering and compassionate care. Special thanks to Matthew Marzani R.N., who moved back home just in time to be a loving caregiver, companion, and friend to his uncle.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to local animal shelters, Countryside Conservancy, or Lacawac Sanctuary to honor Ray's love for animals and nature.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 3rd, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 South State St., Clarks Summit.

I recently read something called the "Cowboy's Creed" and could not help but notice how much it reflects my youngest brother's life...there are ten principles, as follows (1) Be tough, but fair; (2) Talk less, say more; (3) Take pride in your work; (4) Do what has to be done, and choose to do what is right; (5) Always finish what you start; (6) Know where to draw the line; (7) When you make a promise, keep it; (8) Remember some things...like courage, truth, love, kindness and morality...are not for sale; (9) Live each day with Honesty and Courage; and finally and most relevant for this wonderful human being and the grace with which he handled his fate...(10) Courage is not the absence of fear, but the will to ride through it. Rest in Peace, my darling Raymo. You will never be forgotten; I doubt my tears will ever dry. Love you forever.

We've loved having Ray and Monica (and the huskies) as fun and kind neighbors. We always enjoyed seeing them come down the street. Ray was always smiling, witty, and pleasant. We grieve for and with Monica and for Ray's family at their very great loss.
