Raymond "Ray" McManaway Obituary

  Raymond C. “Ray” McManaway, age 83, of Wellston, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at his home.  He was born January 12, 1943 in Wellston, Ohio, son of the late Raymond G. McManaway and Dorothy M. “Dot” Butcher McManaway.  Ray graduated from Wellston High School with the class of 1960.  He was a retired contractor who was the owner and operator of McManaway’s Building and Excavating for many years.  Ray was a very hardworking man whose hobby was planning more work!  In his spare time, he enjoyed restoring old cars and traveling.  Ray is survived by his wife, Luella Seymour McManaway; children, Rick McManaway (Cathy), Randy McManaway (Michelle), and Becky Stewart (Rob); step-children, Kim Baldwin, Melissa Baldwin (Scott), and David Harvey (Shana); grandchildren, Erica Bloomfield (Zach), Ashley Miller, Chelsea Sames (Nate), Katelyn Long (Andy), and Derek McManaway; sister, Arlene Tribby; along with 4 great-grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren, 13 step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty M. Fannin McManaway in 2017; step-son, Michael Harvey; and step-son-in-law, Cliff Baldwin.  The family would like to thank NCR Hospice for their wonderful care of Ray.  Calling hours will be Friday, January 16, from 12 to 2 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 2 p.m. with Chaplain Kevin Green officiating.  Burial will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
