I met Jim February of 2019. One of our insurance agents in Marshall Texas. He was such a nice man. He even played the harmonica for me during my visit. Recorded and everything. Sad to find out this afternoon of his passing. RIP sir.

I was introduced to Jim in 2013, and wished it could have been 40 years earlier. What an inspirational and God loving man. His passive mannerism attested to his resounding strength in faith. I know the family and all his loved ones will miss him dearly. Jim's room was prepared for him a long time ago, and it's got big windows for him to watch over his loved ones. Blessings to all that grieve over his loss and great celebrations knowing Jim is now with our Father and Friend.

I just learned of the passing of Jim and was so sorry to hear of his family's loss. Jim was a client of mine, but more than that, I considered him a friend. His sense of humor and easy laugh was always a welcomed sound. My deepest condolences to his wife and family. I will miss my visits and conversations with him. May God lift his loved ones during these difficult times.

To the family of my classmate, Jim "Captain Crunch" McCutchen, Class of 1970, Wiley College, know there is no sorrow that God cannot heal. Now that Jim is resting in peace with his Lord and Savior, know there is not a better place to have eternal rest. Keep your eyes on the sparrow for we know he watches over us. Praying that God will bless and keep you in His tender care in your time of mourning. May your memories live on.
Sincerely,

Mr. McCutchen you will truly be missed. 19 years ago I met you at Ol' Wiley Dear; became your work-study student; assistant at the insurance office (oh what fun keeping up with your receipts), and eventually felt like a long lost daughter. Going to miss those random phone calls, from one of the few numbers I still have memorized. All of MY Wiley GREATS have transitioned and that little corner in the gym will never be the same again...Rest in Paradise!

Oh, how we loved our trustworthy brother, Reverend F.F. "Jim" Mc Cutchens, our reverent friend, our counselor, and humble servant of Christ in all aspects!
To your neighbor, your worthy advice and companionship were always timely. You, my friend, will be truly missed. Thank you for being a stalwart, effective straight forward community leader. Your leadership as an awesome big brother to our youth, and an entrepreneur of the Port Caddo community will never be forgotten. Harmonica played melodies will always reign in your Honor!
Please accept our R. R. Marshall families' heartfelt condolences to Jim's family.
Lastly, he would want us to know 2 Timothy 4:5-8 as a reminder of how he would want us to do the same. God Bless You, Our Brother in Christ Jesus.

Condolences to my Sister in Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incoporated Elmeree McCutchens due to the loss of your Spouse/our Brother. I am truly hurting with you but I have you in my prayers now and forever.
Brother Jim McCutchens was well known by my family before we knew we would be brother and sister and I feel like I did loss a family member with a different mother. He was well known for his business ethics before he owned his business in the very community I grew up in. We were co-workers at Wiley College and I can go on and on. So, my Sister please know that I am here for you in you time of need and grief. I love you and will be in touch with you in a few days when I feel you are ready to talk to someone.
Goodbye Frat Brother Jim McCutchens and I shall not forget you for you was truly my brother.

I will always think of my brother beside his beautiful wife, Elmarie.
This has truly been hard to deal with and feels like it just can't be true. Some kind of mistake has happened, that he is not physically here. Big, gruff, goofy, funny, protective, charitable and loving man who lived life fully. As siblings we loved one another and as siblings we could get so mad at each other. And no matter what, knowing that we are still family. Today, I am aching so. Unable to talk without crying, but as the Lord said not to grieve as other do, yet it still hurts.
We love you my brother and sister Elmarie. May the Lord spread a canopy of comfort over you my sister.

Jimmy -- Throughout my life you were just my big brother... tall, handsome, with a big, deep laugh and always leaving something behind after a visit to remember you by (a silver dollar, a hat, a favorite sauce, one of your insurance calendars or pens -- always something). But, more than these things, I remember other things you left behind: your big smile, easy laugh, caring spirit, your love of Texas and Summerville GA and love of playing that harmonica, for sure. I'm glad you came to visit recently and I cherish our conversations. Thank you for all you've done and represented for me throughout my life. I will miss you. Rest In Peace. Love your "baby sister".

What a great man Rev McCuthens was. I loved talking to him about God, the church and music. As a matter of fact just talked with him Wednesday morning about a claim for our church(Vivian Chapel). When ending the call he gave me a word of encouragement. But he didnt want to preach. We, the Pastors and members of Vivian Chapel loved him.
