Rev. Jerry W. Lambeth, of Harrisville, NY went to meet his Lord and Savior on January 31, 2019.
Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, February 6th at the Pierrepont Manor Pilgrim Holiness Church. Calling hours will be held at the church on Tuesday, February 5th,
4 pm -8 pm and 10am - 11am prior to the funeral service on Wednesday.
He was born January 8, 1953 in Lexington, NC to Rev. Deweerd & Betty (Crotts) Lambeth. Jerry graduated from Central Davidson High School in 1971 and from Davidson County Community College in 1973 with an Associate's of Arts in Auto Mechanics Degree.
In 1975 he met Joyce Blowers, marrying her on June 24, 1977 in Benton Center, NY. A year later he answered God’s call to the ministry and in 1983 he graduated from Salem Bible College with a BA in Ministerial Studies. He pastored Churches in Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York. They pastored 2 years with United Holiness Church, 17 years under the Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist conference, and 19 years with the Pilgrim Holiness Church of New York. He pastored the Harrisville Pilgrim Holiness church from 2000 until his death.
Jerry was also a mailman, working for the U.S. Postal Service as a rural carrier in Potsdam, NY, then transferring to Copenhagen, NY. In addition to pastoring and delivering mail, he served as the President and Platform manager of Richland Holiness Camp meeting in Richland, NY for over 30 years. Richland Camp was a place very near and dear to his heart.
Christ was center of his heart and life and he was a man whose prayers reached heaven. He truely practiced what he preached, showing God's love to everyone. That is why he never knew a stranger and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, church, mail customers, and camp families.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce. 4 children; Rebekah (Jonathan) Blow, Joanna (Ryan) Mills, Aaron (Clista) Lambeth and Stephen (Rebecca) Lambeth. Also surviving are his 11 grandchildren; Michaela, Eain, Malachi, Benjamin, Carissa, Emma, Callia, Abigail, Stephen II, Isaiah & Claire, 3 Sisters; his twin Jean (Eugene) Rich, Mary Lambeth , Ruth (Kenneth) Loftin, a brother, Paul (Faith) Lambeth and 2 nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Deweerd & Betty, a grandchild and a nephew, Anthony Paul.
In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to Richland Holiness Camp, c/o Doug Canfield, 102 West 4th St., Oswego, NY 13126.

I recognized Jerry from his photo in the paper and feel so sad for his family. They lost a great man. I did not even know his last name, but the news of his passing brought tears to my eyes because I have so many great memories of him, personally and through the neighbors. Jerry was our mailman in Potsdam when we bought and rehabbed a dilapidated home on his route. Jerry was the mobile, one-man cheering section, telling us what a difference we were making. It was a slow process, and Jerry was there, five days of the week, appreciating and applauding, just taking those extra seconds to notice the changes, offer kind words of support. A neighbor who had suffered a stroke had a beagle named Ranger who occasionally went AWOL. Jerry came along on one such day, just as the neighbor was hurrying to get into her car to try and find Ranger. Jerry was the one who found Ranger that day and brought him straight home. That was the kind of man he was. I can only imagine the impact he had in his 66 years on thousands of people who never may have even known his name. He was a treasure.

Brother Lambeth was such a familiar face at Conference time and I think I remember you folks from years ago at Richland Camp as well. I'm really sorry for the hole his death leaves in your lives. Though I doubt not that he's in Heaven, you still have to live here on earth. May God hold you very close and make the days ahead go by swiftly.

Joyce and Family, I can't tell you the heaviness I feel and how much I'm going to miss this nephew. He called me his favorite Aunt. My consolation is that God knows what He's doing even though we don't. I recently heard this quote:
"God is too kind to be cruel and too wise to make a mistake." We must continue to believe that although it isn't always easy. What a wonderful consolation is our hope of Heaven and the reunion there. I'm getting more and more homesick for that country. Please be assured you will be in my prayers in the days to come.

I was very saddened to hear of Jerry's passing. I worked with Jerry at the Potsdam Post Office. He was such a happy, helpful and friendly man. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone. I enjoyed talking and working with him. When my husband passed away, he drove to the service in St Regis Falls from Harrisville to pay his respects. He wasn't working in Potsdam as he had transferred to Copenhagen. And because he was always concerned and thinking of others, I really respected him immensely. He has left a lasting impression on so many people. He was, as he so fondly use to say to his co-workers--"The Best of The Best". He will be missed.

Bro. Jerry as chairman of the examining board of his conference would often begin a session with a young minister by asking "Tell us about your spiritual journey in life thus far and where are you now?" Well, Jerry I know where you are now and if you were to speak to us you would say: "I have fought a good fight, I have finished the course. There is laid up for me a crown...."
