Richard was one of a kind. I met him through the iconic piano player and vocal teacher, Ruth Allyn, and through her I became friends with Rich. I was in my early 20s and struggling financially when Rich offered me a job cleaning his office. For a while, I became part of the office crew, and during that time I learned so much from him—especially about business and the importance of clients.
Rich was brilliant. He could read upside down, finish every crossword puzzle, and had an incredible intelligence and knowledge. He also helped me overcome my fear of flying. I still remember him saying, “The big planes can practically fly by themselves.” I think of him every time I fly.
“’Cause they’ve got to ride forever, On that range up in the sky.” He will be deeply missed, and I wish I could have said goodbye.
My deepest condolences. Sending love and prayers to his family and friends. May he rest in peace.

I used to go to Sabatino’s and hear Richard singing “Old Man River”, If Ever I would leave you”, Ghost riders in the Sky” or “Younger Than springtime”. Such a booming lovely voice. He cared for his companion and so I saw him infrequently. Sorry to hear of his passing. Miss him so deeply.

My heart felt sympathy to the family
of Richard's death. He was able to
provide the guidance my husband
Steen and I needed to sell business
in Chgo plus over seeing my mother's
estate. He was most capable in r
situation. But his love for singing
and voice to enjoy and share priceless!
Thanks Rich for being part of our
life expertise you demonstrated!!!!!
Blessings!!!!!!

Rich:
Thank you for your friendship and mentorship all these years... it seems like a lifetime.
You are now at peace... or maybe creating unrest with our old buddy Apollo somewhere...
I'll miss the good-times and your stories.
Love,
Maria
