My cool cousin, Pete Joe Brown. I grew up watching you call our aunt Fannie Nanny. I loved watching you in all your coolness and listening to you tell me all the stories of your heyday...LOL! I am forever grateful for you connecting me with your son Rcky and his wife when my daughter went to Hampton University for the summer. They were an extension of you for sure. They took good care of my baby girl just like you taught them to care for family. I remember the talks we had when my grandfather, your uncle 'A" passed. Your advice was invaluable and I thank you for every moment and the wisdom you shared with me. I miss our weekend phone calls as you got sick but I always kept the memories in my heart and I can still hear your voice. You helped me to setup boundaries even for family. May we all carry forward the best of you and may you watch over us. Love you cousin.

Mr. Richard Brown was the father of so many boys who didn't have a father.
I grew up across the street from Mr. Brown. Even though my dad was a great father, Mr. Brown was like a father to every boy on 8th Court and in Parkway (Broward Estates).
From Being our Boy Scout Master, to just advising us on how to be men. He gave us sound guidance and his home was my home.
I spent more of my teenage years in his house than mine. Well Ricky and I were best friends, so it seemed as I had two fathers.
I could tell him things that I really didn't want my father to know. He never gave me bad advice. Sometimes I made him laugh when asking him about girls etc.
But he never made me ashamed of myself and was always honest with me. I really couldn't have had a better mentor and some of the lessons I learned was passed on to my sons.
I will never miss him because everywhere I go some of Richard Brown is with me.
Like all great friendships some stories are not to be told. LOL

Rest well my 2nd Father.
Your neighbor & Son Gary Farrington...
