Richard Lown Obituary

Sebring, FL– Richard Lown, 69, passed away on May 23, 2025 at his home in Buttonwood Bay.  Born in Manhattan, NY to the late Frank and Bernice (Starr) Lown.  He grew up in Pearl River, NY.

Richard worked for many years at New York Forwarding in Berkely Heights, NJ relocating to Sebring, FL in 2011 to assist his elderly parents in Buttonwood Bay and eventually he retired there.  Richard enjoyed many years in the friendly community making many good friends.  He enjoyed music, fishing and his daily pool laps.  Rich’s lifetime passion was the Yankees and the Rangers and will be remembered fondly for his vociferous outburst of enthusiasm while watching games.

Richard leaves behind his sister Katherine Lown and her partner Peter Cocuzza of Bridgewater, NJ, his brother Thomas Lown of Bronx, NY, several extended family members as well as his dear friend and caretaker Helen Coke, along with many friends in Buttonwood that were like family.
