Richard's Obituary

Richard H. Roth Sr. of Nanuet, NY passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at The Joe Raso Hospice Residence in New City, NY, with his family by his side. He was 86.Mr. Roth worked as a supervisor at Lederle Labs in Pearl River, NY for 44 years before retiring in 1994. Richard was born March 2, 1932 in River Vale, NJ to George Eugene and Sophie (Winters) Roth . He was a graduate of Pearl River HS Class of 1950.Richard served in the United States Navy from 1950 to 1954 attaining the rank of Seaman Apprentice on the USS The Sullivans DD537 during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 1199 in Orangeburg, NY and VFW.In 1954 he married Joyce Debold at St. Anthony Church in Nanuet.He will be remembered for being a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his brother, Chester (Fran) Roth; children, Debra Anaya, Theresa D’Angelo, Richard H. Roth Jr. and Susan (Jim) Brizzolara; grandchildren, Anthony Anaya, Christina Sacchi, David Anaya, Joseph Anaya, Christopher Brizzolara, Danielle Brizzolara and Claudio D’Angelo as well as six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife, Joyce, his parents and his seven brothers and sisters. He also spent many happy years with Harriet Meyer who currently lives in Florida. Visiting is Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc. A funeral service will be held 10:30 AM Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery, Nanuet. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to American Legion Post 1199, Orangeburg, NY, American Cancer Society or Wounded Warriors.
