Richard A. Suralik, 79, of Scotch Plains, died on March 25, 2026. At this time service’s for Richard are private.
Richard was born in Passaic, NJ, and raised in Clifton, NJ. He settled to Scotch Plains, NJ in the early 1980’s. After high school, Richard was drafted into the United States Air Force, and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. After proudly serving his Country, he was Honorably Discharged in 1968. Richard then attended Fairleigh Dickinson College, receiving his Bachelor’s Degree. Richard worked for DuPont in Clifton, NJ for 20yrs., and then for Exel Logistics for 10yrs., prior to retiring in 2005.
Richard was a nature lover at heart. He could always be found in his back yard by his pond feeding his fish or quietly waiting to see what birds would come to visit. He also enjoyed going freshwater fishing. When Richard wasn’t outside exploring the outdoors, he could be found relaxing while he watched the History Channel.
Richard is survived by his wife of 23yrs., Anna Gross-Suralik; his step-son Adam Gross and wife Cindy Mata-Gross; his two twin granddaughters Anabel and Cecilia Gross; his brother Michael Suralik and wife Patricia; and sister Mary-Ellen Moran.
