Richard J. Trapp

1935 - 2021

Richard J. Trapp age 86 of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Monday July 19, 2021 at the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Clarksville.  He was born June 12, 1935 in Chelsea, MA, the son of the late Richard Trapp and Stella Masik Gould.  Richard served in the US Air Force during the Korean War.  He is a member of the VFW and the American Legion.  He enjoyed fishing and playing cards and was known as a someone who enjoyed being around other people and was a jokester.  He is survived by his daughters Lorna Dhondt of Clarksville and Elizabeth Ijames of Clarksville; sons Charles “Chip” Trapp of Cocoa Beach, FL; Paul Trapp of Merritt Island, FL; Richard Trapp of Palm Coast, FL; Robert Trickett of Conyers, GA; and John Trickett of Natick, MA.  He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Irene Trapp and a grandchild.  Private services will be conducted at a later date.  Arrangements are under the care of Gateway Funeral Home and Cremation Center  335 Franklin Street  Clarksville, TN  37040.  Phone 931-919-2600.  Online condolences may be made by going to www.gatewayfh.com.
