Richard committed his life to Christ and was baptized at Union Grove Baptist Church, South Chesterfield County, VA, where he was a dedicated, active, and faithful member. He served as Treasurer of the UGBC Trustee Ministry, President of the Harold E. Braxton Memorial Choir, and was a member of the Male Chorus and the Sanctuary Choir.

Richard loved sports and was a diehard fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Also, he was supportive of the youth and high school sports programs in the Matoaca community. He was a proud member of the Vietnam Veterans and Combat Veterans Support Group where he served as a dedicated facilitator.

Dear Katie, Ricky, Keisha, & Family,
We shall always remember Richard as an honorable man who loved God, his family, his country,
and all mankind. We remember Richard for helping others. Many years ago, we were at a family gathering in
Richmond, and my daughter cut her finger on something, Richard & Katie were expeditious in coming to her rescue, providing first aid. It's the little things we remember about people that keep our loved ones alive in our hearts! The righteous in spirit and in deeds shall never die: they just "walk on" to the next chapter! We
also remember Richard for his creation and implementation of a meticulous ceremony for deceased military
personnel. He was always thinking of others!
May the PEACE OF GOD that passes all understanding, rule in our hearts forever.
AMEN.
Love,
Peggie & Roger Smith

May your precious memories and your faith in God sustain you now and always. Armand and I, along with our sons, will always cherish the time "BoBo" took us for a memorable boat ride on Lake Chesdin. I don't know how to call him by any other name because that is what my dear friend Bea taught me.
