We just read in the paper about Ricky's passing. Lorraine and Ricky, we are so sorry for your loss, for the world's loss. Our son, Chris (Shotgun) played ball for Ricky on the Rex Tigers when our kids were growing up. My husband, Mike, helped Ricky coach the team. Ricky was the coach that other coaches loved to hate. They did so because of the relationship Ricky had with the kids. He was a champion for the kids. He believed in them and gave them guidance not only in sport but in life. I can remember Ricky coming out of his own pocket to help pay for things that less fortunate kids could not afford. Ricky was a blessing to many. We look back on those days with a smile and warm memories that we will hold onto forever. It is those memories that mark the legacy of Ricky and the way he touched others through even the simplicty of the sport of little league baseball. Thank you Ricky for leaving your fingerprints on our lives and of the lives of many others. To be absent from this earth means to be present with Christ. It is my joy that I find comfort in knowing today he is there, and find humor that he is probably sitting around talking to someone about who will win this year's World Series. Your family has our prayers.
