Ricky Lee Limbrick was born on September 27, 1965, to the late Kirby Limbrick, Jr., and Doris Limbrick in Newton County, Texas. He joined Neely Grove United Methodist Church under the direction of Reverend Douglas Wright, where he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Ricky later joined Olive Press Ministry under the tutelage and teachings of Pastor Robert Harris.
Ricky graduated from Jasper Hish School in 1984, where he was known for being one of the greatest running backs of the class of ‘84. After graduating, he attended Blinn Junior College and then later transferred to Pine Bluff College in Arkansas. Upon leaving college, he moved back to his hometown of Jasper, Texas, and married his middle-school sweetheart, Vera Limbrick, and the two remained in marital bliss for 26 years.
Ricky believed in working hard and taking care of his business. This was evident in his journey to be the best at everything he touched. He began working at MHMR for several years and later he became a successful entrepreneur. This journey started with A-Team Construction and A&B Logging. Ricky loved working for himself and paving the way for his family. He departed from his earthly home on August 3, 2024.
He was a loving son, father, cousin, nephew, uncle, and friend to everyone that he held dear. Ricky was quick to lend a listening ear and helping hand whenever and wherever it was needed. He loved his family and family gatherings were not complete unless Ricky was there with his infectious smile and unforgettable laugh.
Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Kirby Limbrick Jr.; brother, Kalvin Limbrick; grandparents, Della Mae Gasaway, Jimmy Lee Porter, Kirby Limbrick, Sr., Florence Limbrick, and great-nephew, Tre’Shun Porter.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving mother, Doris Limbrick; two children, Ladarris and Morgan Limbrick, both of Houston, TX; four beautiful grandchildren; four brothers and three sisters, Billie “Tiny” Jack (Richard) of Baytown, TX, Sunji Silas (James) of Jasper TX, Kirby Limbrick III (Lillie) of Mesquite, TX, Edwin Limbrick, Stephanie Chatman (Author) of Beaumont, TX, Rodney Limbrick (Charity) of Heartland, TX, and Jarrel Limbrick (Shaunte’) of Beaumont, TX; A special lady friend, Jessica Ford of Houston, TX; close friends, Russel Spikes, Bobby Houston, and Darren Durfield; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
