My mother and Tom’s mother were friends back in the 1940s, when the Magill family lived on Notre Dame Avenue and the Carlins lived a few minutes walk away on Beverage Hill Avenue. That’s how Tom and I first became friends.

Tom, who had a paper route out of Joe Griffith’s garage on Prospect Street, got me a paper route too in my junior high school years.

During those early teen years our friendship was interrupted by a fistfight we had. I don’t know what the cause was;...

We are so sorry for your loss. Tom made such an impact in the City and here at the Leon Mathieu Senior Center. We also remember his strong stewardship as President of the Pawtucket Senior Citizens Council. We will miss his big smile and Irish wit.
