Robert Xavier Splitt, Age 84, of Lemont, passed away Friday, November 12th, 2021, surrounded by his family. Devoted son of the late Xavier “Charlie” and the late Elsie Splitt. Adored husband of 58 years to Carolyn, nee Cavanaugh, Splitt. Doting father of Jennifer Splitt, Laura Whittingham, Anne (James) Cannon, Beth (Mike) Ryan, and Paula Wolski. Cherished grandfather of Megan (Matt) Campion, the late Kyle Krull; Bobby, Luke and Olivia Whittingham; Tess (Billy) Gischia, Charlie, and Beth Cannon; Molly (Tyler) Shellenberg, Jack, and Caroline Hennessy; Raegan, Quinn, and Cole Wolski. Brother of Victor F. (Elaine) Splitt, the late Therese M. Splitt, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends. He was a deeply faith-filled man of his word who always put family first and never let a friend down. His sense of humor, compassion, and gift of listening created strong bonds and made lasting impressions on all who knew him.
Visitation Friday, November 19, 2021, from 3 – 8 p.m. at Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C. 108 Illinois St. Lemont. Funeral services Saturday, November 20, 2021, 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home to SS. Cyril & Methodius Church for Mass at 10 a.m. Interment private.
