Robert Eugene "Whiz" Harold

Robert Eugene “Whiz” Harold, 85, of Newton, died Sunday, March 22, 2026, at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.

He was born September 23, 1940, at Uler, the son of the late Hobert and Clarice Smith Harold.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Harold; brothers, Donald, Ronald, Lowell and David; sisters, Ruth Cooper, Judy Henderson and Juanita Harold.

He was a member of I.U.O.E. #132, Charleston and Zion Hill Baptist Church, Elana.

Survivors include his children, Anita Naylor of Bomont, Angie Carver of Newton, Andrea Jett of Walton, Anthony Harold of Spencer and Andrew Harold of Newton; sister, Karen Harold; 18 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild.

His pastimes included listening to blue grass music, raising cattle, loved having visitors and playing Rook.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 25 at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer and Thursday, March 26, one hour prior to the service.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 26 at Zion Hill Baptist Church, Elana, with Pastor Geary Legg officiating. Burial will be in Smith Cemetery, Uler.
