Robert L. "RL" Williams

1932 - 2026

Robert L. Williams was born March 24, 1932, the son of the late Augutus Williams and Adrian Cooper Williams.

Robert accepted Christ and united with the St. John Baptist Church, Marshall, Texas, where he remained a member until his death.

Mr. Robert Williams united in Holy matrimony with Ms. Wyonia Ann Carter on December 24, 1989.

Mr. Robert Williams worked at ICI for many years, he also drove the school bus and was a mechanic until his health failed. Robert always believed in Peace, he was a Loving Family Man, of his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grands. Mr. Robert L. Williams departed this life on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at his home in Elysian Fields, Texas surrounded by his loved ones. Mr. Robert Williams was preceded in death by his father, Augustus Williams, Sr., his mother, Adrian Cooper Williams, 7 brothers, Augustus Jr., Joe B., Lorenzo H., Louis K., John W., all of Fort Worth, TX., Tommie, and Charles Williams of Marshall, Texas, and 5 sisters, Otha V., Marie, Dorothy, Lavern Williams, of Fort Worth, TX, and Clareice Williams of Marshall, TX.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife, Wyonia Ann Williams of Elysian Fields, TX; 5 sons, Victor Williams (Vickie), Greggory Williams, Jarvis Williams (Tanisha), all of Marshall, TX., Kervin Williams (Joyce) of Nacogdoches, TX., and Niguel Williams (Crystal) of Houston, TX.; one daughter, Sheila Williams Harris of Elysian Fields, TX.; 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 3 God children, Khinsley, Kharter, and Khenedy Ervin and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Elysian Fields Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Lewis Cemetery in Elysian Fields, Texas. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 27, 2026, at Downs Funeral Home.
