Bob and I met on a hill in Korea in 1951. He was on one side of the hill and I was on the other. One day he walked over and bumped into me. I was a medic and he was a radio man. From then on we were good buddies. He told me stories of stringing lots of wire across the battlefields before I arrived.

I was so pleased to be able to find him again after nearly 70 years. We had enjoyed talking on the phone in recent times. I will miss him and our conversations greatly.

So many great memories... from his many passions: polishing and constructing a telescope, radioman, a true Renaissance Man. But most memorable was his devotion and compassion for his friends. The friendship he extended to our Mother, Ruth, through out her life spoke to that. Our deepest condolences to the Zohner family.

Ellie and I enjoyed many special times with Bob and Nemo here at Meramec Bluffs. The stories of their families, children, grandchildren, and travels were always part of those gatherings. Bob liked gardening and was a special help with the flower beds around the cabin area. For the past 4 - 5 years Bob and I had a standing Friday afternoon dinner date. What wonderful and memorable times that will be long cherished!

My sister and I bought your parents Sunset Hills house. Several times we forwarded mail to Bob and he was such a generous fellow that he sent flowers. I think of him when I look at the fireplace mantels he made from telephone poles.

We have many fond memories of dinners together outings with the couples group from church. Bob had a great sense of humor. He will be remembered for all of the projects he either lead or helped with such as the crosses in the front of the church. He will be missed but I am sure he is busy with projects in heaven

Our Uncle Bob was the greatest uncle and role model. He was so kind, smart, patient, and fun-loving. My mother loved him dearly. We have great memories of growing up with the entire Zohner clan. So Rest In Peace now dear uncle. Job well done here on earth. I love imagining what new projects and adventures you will be up to next. ❤
