Roger Robertson, Jr. Obituary

Roger Dale Robertson Jr., lovingly known as “RD” by his family, age 57, of Fieldale, Virginia, departed from this life on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born on February 5, 1968, in Rocky Mount, Virginia, to Sandra Faye Robertson and the late Roger Dale Robertson Sr.

In addition to his mother, Sandra, he is survived by his sister, Angel Robertson Dillon, and her husband, Steven; nephews Michael Ratliff, Alexander Ratliff, and Reese Wingfield; and several lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his father; both maternal and paternal grandparents; many aunts and uncles; and several dear friends.

Known for his free spirit, Roger had a love of the outdoors and exploring, especially hiking. Music was important to him, and he spent time learning to play the guitar. He most often spoke to everyone he came upon and made many friends along his journey. Those who knew him described him as sweet, kind, and funny. He was fiercely protective of his family and closest friends.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at another time.

You will be missed my friend! Never will forget that one summer we kept the roads hot in my "PINTO BEAN" as you called it. See you on the other side my dear friend.
