Ronald “Ron” Rein, age 72, passed away at his home in Mason, OH on May 31st, 2024.
He was born on December 5th, 1951, to Ralph and Evelyn (nee Schwarb) Rein and grew up in Blue Ash, OH. He attended St. Savior Grade School and Archbishop Moeller High School (Class of 1970).
He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1971-1975. After his time in the Air Force, he attended the University of Cincinnati and graduated with a Bachelor of Business degree. Ron then worked at the US Postal Service from 1975-2012, retiring as a postal supervisor. After a short break, he started to work part time at Gordon Food Service as he liked to stay busy.
Ron married the love of his life Linda Roenker on June 16th, 1990, in Covington, Kentucky.
Ron enjoyed traveling to Gatlinburg, Myrtle Beach, and Florida on many family vacations splitting his time between the beach, mini golf courses, and go kart tracks. When back in Cincinnati, he enjoyed making trips to the casino where he played his favorites Caribbean Stud and the slots. He was an avid sports fan, with his favorite teams being the Reds, Bengals, UC Bearcats, and Moeller High School. Ron also was involved at his parish of St. Susanna and volunteered to set up for the festival every year. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 630. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Linda Rein, children Nick (Tappi) Rein and Eddie (Haley) Rein. His siblings Judi Rein, Jerry Rein, and Don (Melissa) Rein. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Tom Rein.
In lieu of flowers, Ron wished for any memorial donations to be made to Moeller High School or the American Legion Post 630.
A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, June 10th, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with military honors at 7:00 PM at Mueller Funeral Home at 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, OH 45040.
The Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday June 11th, 2024, at 12:00 PM at St. Susanna Catholic Church at 616 Reading Road, Mason, OH 45040.
